Glass wool insulation, generally known as fibreglass, is made from glass fibres. Glass is heated to pretty substantial temperatures until finally it melts, and is then spun promptly to produce fibres. These fibres are then bound collectively for use as insulation. Except for thermal insulation, the fiber gap of glass wool can absorb sound waves.
